Medical malpractice: a case study in medical and legal decision making The conference was organized in part to dispel some of the misinformation that interferes with cooperative efforts of attorneys and physicians to redress the malpractice situation.

Case Study: Medical Malpractice Medical professionals save lives daily. However. at times. negligence can cause harm leading to unnecessary health complications or death. In these unfortunate cases. it takes an expansive knowledge of how malpractice works to achieve justice.

Presenting actual cases drawn from institutions around the United States. the articles integrate traditional medical case histories with results of root-cause analyses and. where appropriate. anonymous interviews with the involved patients. physicians. nurses. and risk managers. Cases do not come from the discussants’ home institutions.
